View Full Version : Processer not running at the right speed
I reasently got a 1.33Ghz Tbird and a K7 Master MS-6341 motherboard. When i put it together it works but the bios reports the clock speed at only 1000Mhz. Why is this and how can i fix it?

u sure u didnt got an A (266mhz) version of the cpu?? From what i see u got an 200mhz motherboard. so if u got an 266 chip it wont run on 1.33 since it need a bus speed of 266(133fsb) to run that speed.
but if im wrong and u got an 266mhz board try going into bios and set the bus speed at 133fsb instead of 100.

OK, you board only takes up to 1.2ghz chip. You will probably need to download the latest bios version for your board to get it to recognise the 1.33ghz chip.
Also here is some FSB info for your board.
Ver 1.0 : 100MHz (200MHz Internal System Bus) ; Ver 1.1 : 133MHz (266MHz Internal System Bus)
You can download the 6341 biosHERE (http://www.msi.com.tw/support/bios/mainboard/6xxx/6341/6341.htm) or us their LIVE BIOS automatic detection and update system HERE (http://www.msi.com.tw/support/feature/livebios/livebios.htm)
Try this and let us know if this works.
Hope this helps.
Hey Thanks guys, I changed the bus to 133 and now the clock speed is up to 1.33. Woohoo thanks agian
