what does 2-2-2 stand for?

i know about cas latency and stuff but what are you all talking about when u say 2-2-2 or something else, my crucial ram does 2 cas latency and everything else at the lowest, but i dont get what those numbers are when u say 2-2-2

2-2-2 usually refers to CAS latency, RAS to CAS delay, and RAS precharge. Different motherboards report those numbers in different orders, so numbers like 2-3-2 might not be the same for different systems. There's also an active to precharge delay, which is longer than the other three above. Sometime you'll see 2-2-5-2, where 5 is for precharge.

The numbers themselves shouldn't mean too much to end users like us. Basically the lowest numbers that you can run stable are always best.
