I was sitting around last night at about 2 am and noticed i had enough parts laying around to build another pc so I decided to build another folding rig. I used my old w/c case and an old 5" lcd screen I had laying around for a monitor. Heres some pics.

Notice that high quality monitor! ;) I used a Priority Mail box turned inside out to hold the LCD and its controller. I figured why not be able to see it fold if I want. The thing hanging out of the top is the power switch and led.

Dangit! Dangit! Dangit!
I swear I had that idea first! I hate you now... you are my new arch-nemesis. I should have patented that! You freaking THIEF!
That's my token response to anything I see that I immediately envy. Very cool idea =p.

Hmmmmm, call me crazy but I think that lcd screen may fit in those empty drive bays. Nothin a dremel and a little super glue cant do. :)
Thats a great idea, this is a really nice space saving idea...less monitors = more room for computers. Are those little screens cheap? If so, even better!! Nice job!!

I second that! Put it in a bay! It will be one self contained unit!
How fast is that sucker? And the LCD-in-a-drivebay is a neat idea.
Fold on!

Well I would put it in the drive bay but the short wires from the controller make it a real tight fit but I will work on it so it looks nice and clean. :D

I picked this one up used for 50.00, it was actually a portable TV that I have to use an s-video > RCA wire/plug > small av plug adapter to use. I did see the same unit for sale at Circuit City for 199.00 the other day, I figure pawn shops and the like will have these type things used for damn near nothing though. I mean it really doesn't even have to be a color one for the most part. I mean I can't really read the small lettering and stuff on the screen but it lets me know if it locks up or something.
How fast is that sucker?
It's just a 2500 Barton a little overclocked w/ a 200 FSB. My main goal was to keep it quiet so I can leave it on all the time.

come on man use the console, the graphical client is slow :D
But nice job on the scrounging of parts that were lying around...I wish I had a 2500+ lying around
Fold and Frag on
