I am about to buy a 133GHz athlon, and needed to know whether I should buy any one, or an AXIA or an AXIA Y?

I assume it must be unlocked as well?

Every 1333 I've seen has been unlocked. As far as 'to Y or not to Y', you can overclock pretty much any T-bird chip, how high you can get it depends on many factors and you wont get the same results even with the same exact equipment.

Also OSs matter I heard that windows2000 doesn't like to be higher than about a fsb of 145. might be do to interupt problems but most people in the 150's use 98se.

TT120, says it best.."you can overclock pretty much any T-bird chip". You can increase your chances of having a highly successful overclocking experience through the use of stepping codes.

An 'AXIA' with the first character of the third line being a letter, 'Y' or 'K' are to be found, may increase your likelihood of a higher per-centage overclock.

At default speed, the processor is a real screamer. Anything over and above that is pure icing on the cake.
