Man I have chipped a 1ghz and a 800mhz.. this is really pissing me off. I have a chrome orb (non-twist one)

JJ, you may want to download the entire.pdf file regarding the proper removal and installation of Socket-A heatsinks. That document as well as many other juicy tidbits can be found here (http://www1.amd.com/athlon/config).

For a quality heatsink, you might want to take a look at the units listed here (http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/).

Slow and easy, that's the ticket.

www.pricewatch.com great prices on AMD chips. I just paid $130, for a 1ghz.

yeah as somebody said the best bet is to get a non conductive shim mate or get the expensive Swiftech MC462 or MC307-0A
they are crack and chipproof heatsinks.

The shim idea is possibly a bad one as evidence now suggests that they effect CPU tempratures.
