Ok is there or will there be any video cards with true HDTV output? I have a ti-4600 and the best it will do even on its DVI output is 600x800. I have a 57" Hitatchi HDTV that will go up to 1920 x 1080I or 1280 x 720P resolution and would like to hook it up to my computer. I will be upgrading video cards sometime in the near future and was wondering if playing games in HDTV is even possible. thanks.

Thats a pretty damn big screen to be gaming on. But I dont know of any card specificly HDTV compatible. Maybe try a ATI 9800 All-in-Wonder?

here it is (http://buy.ati.com/shopati/product.asp?category=AA&part%5Fno=HDTV+AIW+R8500+CDN&find%5Fcategory=AA&find%5Fdescription=Accessories&find%5Fpart%5Fdesc=&country=CAN)
High-Definition Decoder ATSC Tuner PCI Card (http://www.digitalconnection.com/Products/Video/mdp120.asp)
Not cheap though but supposedly one of the best.
I've been trying to do the same thing man. Yes, it is possible, but it's not as simple as plugging your computer into your TV and choosing a resolution that fits.
I could give you article upon article that I've read on this stuff, but the main thing is that HDTVs only accept certain (and very specific) resolution and refresh rates. I'm gonna try it out again today, as it didnt work the first time I tried. I just found some new articles on it, telling me to do some different stuff. You have to use powerstrip to make some custom HDTV resolutions in order for it to work.
Here's a good website for you to look at: www.htpcnews.com . And post your questions at www.avforums.com . Not to knock the people here at the OC forums, but they'll know more about what you wanna get done there, that here at the OC forums, seeing as people here are more concerned with OCing than setting up an HTPC.
You might end up feeling like you should just give up after trying to figure it out by yourself, like I did a while ago, but I am compelled to get this to work. I know it's possible, so I'm gonna get it done. :D
