View Full Version : 60 fps....always?
Im just kinda curious about my fps which seems to be stuck at 60 in a few games. It never wavers higher or lower.
Ive tried it in WW2 online, Il2 Forgotten battles, Planetside and a few others. Im using the latest Omega drivers, DirectX 9, and High performance setting.
Is it just a error of some sort? A few games Ive seen 712 fps to 30fps (either extrme)depending on what Im looking at/type of screen.
Thanks,

uncheck V-sync
Ive been playing WW2 Online, Il2 Forgotten battles, Planetside ( cant rember if there was a fps "meter"), BF 1942 . Everquest is just stutter city and runs like crap, my Ge4Mx440 ran it smoother.
Ill change the refresh rate tonite and see what transpires. Im not too concered, 60 fps steady is nice...I was just curious "why".

I just went looking fir the Vsync, only thing I saw was "Wait for Vertical Sync" under the OpenGL and DirectX tabs. They are set at "always off" with the high performance option.
Am I looking in the right place?

cjc 75,yes set them to always off, turn fastwrites on in the smartguard tab it helps, with your system you should have details maxed, and i think it just might be a game issue where the game doesnt report over 60fps+ although when i was playing cs i saw 99fps always never 100+when my card is capable of it,shouldn't be anything to worry about
Thanks for the help guys,
I tried flipping the fastwrite off and lost about 300 points in 3DMark. I didnt think it could be a real card problem as I get the "proper" fps in benchies, just not in some games.

Some games that are played online limit the frame rate in an attempt to improve game play issues caused by latancy which aparently can be hurt with varying frame rates from PC to PC.
