I just got a slot 750, yes it can be overclocked-with my mobo that doesent support 133FSB i have gotten it up to 900 already usind a GFD. This is with 2 case fans and a GORB. Better cooling would render a gig-at least i believe it would-some of the 750 in the database are at over 1300mhz-go figure

Slot-A's are good overclockable: you have 2 options: easy one, overclock by FSB. Results aren't so good, up to 110FSB, higher with much luck, dependant of the mobo you have and the chipset it uses. If you want to know how/what, please be more specific. The hard way is removing the cover from the CPU and attaching a goldfingerdevice (GFD). You can buy it for about $35 at some overclockers places or make it yourself (see tomshardware). This allows you to set your CPU multiplyer. This however yields good results. f.i. my 500 at 5x standard runs 800 (8x) with no problems. Radiates a LOT of heat, that's why I use watercooling.
750? well, with FSB 800 is possible, not guarranteed. With GFD 900 almost certain. Depends on the chips, wether it's 'willing' to overclock...
Good luck with your athlon! The good old slot A kick a$$ if you ask me..

Slot A T-Birds usually aren't as overclockable as Classic but you should be able to get at least 900MHz...
Best board for Slot A T-Bird's is the Asus K7V-T

Beware! I've seen stories about overclocking slot-A T-birds. The mobo's don't seem to support clockspeeds above 800MHz. You have to do some kind of modd. to enable this, I suggest having a look at the homepage beginnersguides or so. could also be that the mobo is a limiting factor.

I have a Slot A T-Bird 700MHz... Tried running it on my K7V & it was unstable as... Running it on a K7V-T & it works fine... Could only get it up to 850-900MHz though...
Offically they only work in AMD "Irongate" 750 Boards & modified KX-133 boards such as they K7V-T... This is due to on-die cache timing issuses... Some ppl have had success on other KX-133 boards but its sort of luck of the draw...

Thanks for straightening up my mind :) ! It were only the normal K7V's which require mods.

All KX-133 had the timing issue... Some ppl have success running Slot A T-Birds on them but not many... Asus were the only manufactuer to bring out a modded KX-133 based board that worked successful with the T-Bird core - hence the K7V-T...
