19,491 with 9800np listed in the sig. Cpu was running at 207x12=2484MHz. I've got my cpu up to 214x12 now, so it's time to test again.
Hopefully I'll have some copper ramsinks for the 9800np this weekend to match the copper 1u cooler I installed (same hsf chopped up into ramsinks).
Then comes the pelted MCW50-T

Hey Mustanley, have you tried lowering your multi say to 11 or 10.5 even. A higher FSB will pick up some point's for you, it look's like your RAM can handle it. And if you have not tried the CAT 3.5's in your testing, I would recommend it.
I'm getting a MCW50-T also:p
I have one other cool trick for you to pick up point's. Need to have WINXP, or 2000 will work with a bit more effort.

I just recently scored 19910 with my hardware (see sig).
-R9700Pro with 2.2kohm resistor at ~1.8vcore - Dynatron 1U copper cooler
-Barton 2500+ 222x10.5 for benchmarking - Tt Volcano 7+
Temps are reasonable. Tweaker, how did you achieve 233fsb? Did you do a northbridge voltage mod?, also, point me to a good memory vmod. With the extra fsb, I could put myself over the 20k mark.
-Visiontek 9800 pro @ 449 MHz / 386 MHz
-Thermaltake Giant II
-21067, 2.6C @ 3.3
-Watercooled CPU and aircooled vid.
PoworColor 9700 Pro /w all 4 Vmods @ 447/804
22,376 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6972591 )
Sapphire 9800pro 128mb with Asetek WaterChill + large homebrew heatsinks - NO vmods yet
21,661pts @ 495/818 (major artifacts;))
3410mhz was with water (New Vapochill armed and ready)
Can't touch q149 with his 9700pro and uber memory! Very nice score my friend

Why don't you scope out OC3dmark's database on our teams' page???? All of the info you asked for is in there, for our whole team.

I was feeling pretty good about 14,850 @ 1024*768*32 that I hit today, until I started reading your scores. Back to the drawing board...
Oh yeah, 4800+ on 3dMark2003 :(

Mattman, don't feel too bad because your score is being hurt a lot by your low CPU speed and FSB speed. Some of the tests within 3dmark01 are highly dependent on your CPU/FSB speed.
Well, I'm the lame one here with a score of 13,151.
I'm using stock cooling on the vid card, no RAM sinks, and a Volcano 11 on the processor. I could probably squeeze a bit more out of the vid card, but I'm waiting for winter when the house is a bit cooler.

Nice score nimrod ;)
have you got a TEC on that GPU to reach 518? Mine has started getting checker boarding after 470-475mhz but I can bench up to 500 without crashing. Does anyone know if a GPU vmod will cure my checker boarding?
quick test with new vapo = 22,163
2.6C @ 3.75 - Vapo XE
Sapphire 9800pro 452/389 - Air - Yet to fit WC into Vapo Case

yes it should help with the voltmod(i can run 500 with no checkers,if succesful u should gain around 500 pts..
The core voltage to the gpu is 1.90 hope this helps..

just as a precaution, id make sure you have enough money to buy another card just in case something goes wrong.

I guess what I need is to get the AMD mounting hardware for my Prommy, set that up on my 2400+ and NF7-S, then I might be able to break 20k...
thanks for the offer! I now know who to go to if I need voltmodding info for the 9800!

Cheers Radman, i'm going to try the mem vmod for my P4P800 first and see how that goes, then when I feel brave i'll do the radeon.

I don't think anyone can 'afford' to fry a 9800pro, but if it does happen then I guess i'll somehow manage to find the money for an 9800XT ;) I guess this is the gamble we all take when pushing technology to the edge.

I have an 80w tec on the gpu but the cpu is just on plain water. I'm thinkin I could nail around 540 core with a vmod and maybe 400 mem with a vmem mod givin me well over 24k. Only problem is I cant afford to get a new gpu right now.

do you have an mcw50t or a maze4-1??
thats a good overclock.. only got mine to 475 with an 80w tec.

I had to put another rad in my loop to get good temps. I have 2 1976 chevette heatercores with OTIS shrouds and 2 120m fans
I have the swifty with the pelt. I have benched it at 524 but it wont do all the tests at that speed.

im only getting around 9000 from the system in my sig. This seems a bit low doesnt it? Btw the card is a regular 5600 not an ultra
hmm... top scores are under 13000 with 2.2Ghz, but with the card at 414/710.
hope that helps.
Bump for sweet old school hardware scores. :D

At the time intel was fooling around with the whole netburst architecture (P4, that pentium with two P4 cores stuck on it) that was fast for clocks but didn't do much with them. IIRC the intel benchers would be running pentium Ms to compete with the big boys on AMD at the time, with their fancy 'FX' chips and such. At the time the highest clocked AMD and PM chips were in the 3ghz range (on phase!) while the netburst chips were somewhere between 4-6ghz depending on which one it was.
Ol' G can fill you in with more details, think I stole the story from him. :)
