View Full Version : Overclocked Duron 800
Hi, i had for the first time overclocked my cpu. I have the Duron 800@1009mhz..temp seems to be a steady 59c/138f. I am using the Thermaltake Chrome Orb Duo462 heatsink and fan. On the cpu i only used some silicone compound. Boot up is no problem and is running smooth so far. Does this temp seem ok or should i try to get it lower? As a stock Duron 800 with stock heatsink and fan the temp hoovered in the 54c range. I have the multiplier set @10 and the voltage set at 1.825v. My mobo is the Asus A7V with the Via KT133 Chipset..... I also have 2 - 4 1/2 fans in the case.
Any comments would be appreciated....Thanks
My case has 2 80x80 fans, 36.6 cfm, one sucks, one blows. The cooler master Heatsink also has a 80x80 fan on top. CPU temp, full load, is ~40C.

Your temp does seem rather high... I'm running the 850 duron @1009mhz, FSB at 100, Multiplier at 10, Voltage at 1.65, on an A7V133... My idle temp is 37C, Load temp is 47C.... Volcano II CPU Cooler. 4Case Fans 2 suckin & 2 blowin... Full Tower....

DUMP the orb !!!
Check my temps, I have SETI running so it is with a FULL load on the CPU.
Check my sig to see what my duron is at.
I picked my WBK-38 up at a comp show for $20.00.
Good Luck :-)
Yeah as somebody said get those temps in the low-mid forties or at least low fifties under load cos UR CPU wont last that long with those temps.
I would suggest u get a new heatsink like the wbk or fop or even the thermoengine would do the trick all of the m of course with the delta screamer.
