Unlocking the L1 bridges ?

Hi all
Has anybody ever had any success using the trace tape for the L1 bridges?
I tried it and am not having any luck what so ever. I put my FSB back at 100 and tried to just up the Multiplier and the highest I could get was 10.5 any higher it would not boot at all. I checked the trace tape it looked fine, i even tried to put little pad on top of the trace tape thinking it would help push down on it with my HSF in place. And that did not make a difference, Does the trace tape just suck? or is there something im missing? Open for suggestions!

I am not aware of anyone having great success with trace tape and from my memorys I dont believe I have heard anything positive about it, however I havent tried it myself. This URL may help you though

one of my systems has been running for 6+ months with the same pencil trace.

I wasted the $23.00 at Plycon, and found the trace tape to be complete junk. I used all three pieces, and could get none to work. The only thing it did was prevent my 850 Duron from booting. Another expensive experiment that failed.

yeah it seems that they are a complete waste of money, I've tried over an over and just don't work, Chalk this one up for bad experience..
I guess ill try the pencil trick next

I got lucky, my bridges were connected, but my buddy did the good ol' pencil trick and his is working just fine. No problems, it's only been a couple months, but it hasn't worn off.
