i have an athlon 2400 xp with an asus a7n8x-x motherboard .when i go to control panel and under system it says i am running at 2.00 ghz, is this the normal stock speed ,i havent touched any settings ,such as voltage .i just want to know if this is a good starting point .to start overclocking . thanks for the help

That's the default speed. The Athlon XP 2400+ is not the best to overclock, but with good cooling and a higher voltage, you may be able to run her up flawlessly. It's definatelly a good CPU to OC when you don't wan't to upgrade because from the 2400+, the prices get WAY TOO HIGH!

Go to www.cpudatabase.com to find out a good speed for 2400+
