I finally got 2 new hard drives and they are all setup and working fine. Now I just want to install windows on them and cant find the drivers to let windows see the hard drives. The Controller is a IBM ServeRaid 4L, I got the linux drives for it but just cant find the drivers that go on the floppy disk.

You can DL the drivers from HERE (http://www.scsi4me.com/index.php?page=downloads.htm). They have version 6.10, 6.00 & 3.50C so just click on the device then DL. It was the first Google hit.

ok thanks, I found that page before but with all the different exe files it got me confused.

Most of the exe are specific to OS and and either firmware or drivers. You have the 6.00 CD and the firmware update has already been done while configuring the array. The drivers are on the CD as well. You need to use matching firmware and drivers. 6.10 has just been released and is stable except for an installation problem with NT Server.

hmm thats not good, I have 6.10 drivers but I think 6.00 firmware
:(

can I just flash the firmware without reinstalling everything I have on the hard drives or do I have to delete everything first. I may just leave it if I have to delete everything, they seem to be working fine at the moment, no problems at all. Whats a good benchmark to use so I can see if I have a problem somewhere?

ok got everything working but am going to upgrade to v6.10 for everything. I was a little disappointed with the results. The ATTO benchmark was max read 46000 and max write 59000. The drives are IBM ultrastar 15k rpm 18.4gb I think 36Z15s model. This was with raid 0. Im hoping there was a driver conflict with the 6.00v for firmware and the 6.10 for windows. If thats not the case I dont know whats wronge.

ok one more questions. I dont think I ever setup clustering last time. What does clustering do exactly?

bump? anyone have a clue why my scores are so low? From what Ive read the transfer rate of this scsi drive is 51000 so shouldnt it be something like 80-90k in an array? Im pretty sure there is no driver conflict and I changed the stripping size to 32kb from 64kb and there was little to no change in scores.
