How long should i take to set and how many degrees should the temps drop aftet it is in solidly in place, from when it is fist applied?

a few days and 1-2 degrees maybe 2-3 if your lucky

Jiggle the heatsink and it will settle faster, letting it 'sit' to settle could take some time. Jiggling it makes it settle much quicker.

i left mine on two days and checked later, my load temp went down 4c
