Ok OK!! i just posted a few days ago how my abit kt7 raid would lockup when i changed the multiplier. I actually changed the FSB to 110 and it worked until tribes ****ted out on me so i changed it back. ANYWAY, I took the advice from a lot of people on these and other forums to go get the KT7A Board. I have it installed now and i get the same crap. I saw some people were having trouble with the YH bios so i went back to the WZ bios (although i exhasted my options with the yh also) EVERYTIME i change my FSB to anything it holds up with nothing on my monitor. Is there something in the bios that i need to change, it's running pretty much default settings except the UDMA mode is on and the chip enhancements are on. If someone has been through this crap and knows what i'm doing wrong please help this is getting very frustrating. Oh yeah, i also see EVERY multiplier in the bios so i'm pretty sure i did the pencil thing rather well (with a magnifying glass and a goooood coat of graphite(not touching)) Anyway, is there a voltage thing perhaps? i don't know, i'v e tried everything and i'm tired and i'm going to bed. if anyone has the magic answer please share!! thanks a lot!!

AMD 1GHz Tbird
Abit KT7A Raid
384 MB 133MHz SDRAM (tried just keeping 1 256 dimm in there)
30.7 GB IBM deskstar Ultra DMA 100 HD

What are the other components in your system? Vid card, sound card, NIC card, and anything else you have in there. It could be that one or more of your other components dont like the FSB that high.

Well, the other specs are a NetGear 10/100 network card
SoundBlaster Live Sound Card
Visiontek GeForce 3
I've added another front induction fan for a total of 6 fans in my case and a better heatsink (another one is on the way too)

It's just weird, When i installed the new KT7A Raid motherboard, it defaulted to a 1200MHz setting which of course i had to change cause it wouldn't work. when i turn on the computer it sounds like it's going to come on but nothing pops up on the screen. so i have to cold boot it until the screen comes up and sometimes when i go into the bios everything is the same (nothing was reset) i'll go try upping the voltage a little to see what that does. What is your guys Power supply on the back set to? anyway, let me know if you think of anything.

oh yeah, are all 1.2 GHz amds factory unlocked?

Ok, try this: Remove everything but the bare minimum needed to get the computer booted. No NIC, no sound, etc. see if you can get it to work that way and then add a card at a time till it gets screwy, then you've found your prob. What setting on the back of the supply are you referring to?

115 for North America, 220 (something like that anyway) for everywhere else. That pertains to what the current is run at.
