A7V8X Deluxe vs A7N8X Deluxe

Got rid of my A7V8X single channel board and 512mb stick of PC3200 Mushkin level II.

I tried the Radeon 9800 (Bios flashed to 9800 Pro) out in the A7V8X first to get a direct comparison to the A7N8X Deluxe.

The hardware;
MB: Asus A7N8X Deluxe v2.00.
CPU: Barton 2500+ @ 3200+.
HS/F: Retail AMD.
RAM: 2x256mb Mushkin level II PC3500.
VC: Radeon 9800 flashed to 9800 Pro Bios.
SATA HD's: 2xWD Raptors in RAID 0.
ATA HD: WD800JB.
CDRW: LiteOn 48x24x48 Bios flashed to 52x24x52.
Case/PSU: Antec/Antec True Power 430W.
Mouse: Logitech Mx 700.
Monitor: Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930sb.
OS: W2K Pro.

A7V8X Deluxe with 2500+ (1833 clock).

3dmark 2001se = 14540.
3dmark 2003 = 5344.

A7N8X Deluxe with 2500+ (1833 clock).

3dmark 2001se = 16202
3dmark 2003 = 5506

A7N8X Deluxe with 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ (2200 clock).

3dmark 2001se = 18244
3dmark 2003 = 5690

The numbers are from the "default" benches and the ATI 3.7 drivers are also at the "default" installation settings.

Now I need a good socket A three prong clip on cooler, to replace my slk800U that I sold to a P4 friend when I gutted my tower. Maybe something for the video card for OCing, the north bridge seems pretty warm and then some other tweaking too...

Suggestions?

when he says he's running as a 3200+, it means he's running it at 200X11, which is the default 3200+ setting

cherrypOOt,
That is the one I did order, just for the ease of HS/F swaps to other systems in the house without the hassle of pulling motherboards.

boxboy, Yes.

Molester, Exactly!

boxboy, It was well worth going from the A7V8X to the A7N8X.

I also ran the Sandra memory bench at 166, 200 and 220 FSB.

11x166 = 2571/2435.

11x200 = 3091/2918.

10x220 = 3386/3169.
