DURON 800 with MSI KT7 Pro 2-A need help~

I'm using Duron 800 with MSI KT7 Pro 2-A mainboard.. i would like to overclock it.. izit possible? how far i can go?? What's the best setting?? besides, i'm using 512 SD Ram Pc 133 and Creative Value TNT2 32Mb Display.. pls .. help needed as soon as possible

Check out mt stats with pretty much the same board, it is a great board to O/C. I used the jumper on the M/B to acheive 133mhz FSB. It is an easy way to boost performance. With an 800mhz, I am unsure if it will work, but maybe it will!! Good Luck

Luv2Rave: You can't compare your mobo with a k7tpro2-a. your mobo has a via kt133a chipset, where k7tpro, pro2 and pro2-a has the kt133 chipset.

If the CPU is unlocked, with sufficient cooling you should be able to reach 1 ghz, (at least make sure you have a good HSF) You should try for a high FSB if possible, how high you can go depends on your system and quality of ram (7.5 x 133 is faster than 10x100 even though they both make 1 ghz), The Duron runs quite warm and any CPU temperature over 50 c should be a area of concern ( I have a CPU temp @ 35 c and the System temp @ 22 c loaded on my Duron 800 )
And as for how far you can go, and what's the best setting.. that cant be answered as every system and CPU is different however the Duron 800 should not disappoint you

I cant lar.. My DURON 800 got problem lar.. when i change anything either than default then my comp wont boot to windows.. it's lock? anyone can help me?? pls.. i really wanna overclock my processor.. PLEASE

I assume you have unlocked the L1's. These mobos can be a bit tricky so follow what I say and you should do it.
Set the multiplier and your vcore and F10 to save. When you save cut the power using the switch on your case. Power it back up after a second or two and the new settings should be active. If not cut the power again.
You say that your mobo is Pro 2a. I am sure that you can also use it at 133. Check your manual. There should be a jumper J17 which is closed for 100 and open for 133. If you have this you can also use 133 but you will have to unlock all the L7 bridges as well to post at 1.85V

No, he can't cause the "a" in pro 2a doesn't mean that it has a kt133a chipset. It has a kt133, and because of that, it can NOT be used att 133

Yo! i wanna ask if i didnt unlock L7 izit possible my duron will get burn?? i havnt find out where to buy that condutive pen to draw it to 1.85V .. Besides, inow i unlock my L1 duron already.. my multipier works fine.. In fact, i change my Vcore to 1.80 then my Cd-rom get burn.. ish.. lucky i wanna change oledi..my maximum setting for my Duron800 is (14x9) with default V (1.67) and i make it to 936Mhz...and my tempreture is 31c with normal Duron Cpu Fan.. kekekek.. i'm gonna change it as soon as possible.

Im using a Global Win FOP-32 on my Duron which offers good performance for the price and think that you should consider this along with case cooling and hopefully you should get a good overclock.

My bios(PC health) showing me that my CPU tem. is about 31-32c but when i run SiSoft Sandra 2000 then mainboard benchmark shown me that my cpu tem was 51c .. anyone can tell me ...which one is the real tem i have?? Besides, izit my cpu will ok while i'm running 1.60V(default) duron coz i havent unlock L7.. but i'm running 936Mhz (14x9 )... Can i know anything will happen?? i run my comp for the whole day long.. the tem show in Bios and Fuggy Logic III (MSI Uti) was 31-32c...
