Here is what i have
mb-asus A7V8X (via KT400)
CPU- pc2100+ (might be upgraded later)

so the MB manual says :
"the mb comes with 3 DDR DIMM sockets. These sockets supoert up to 3gb system memory using 184pin unbuffered non-ECC pc3200/pc2700/pc2100/1600 DIMMs (Note: DDR400 supports one socket only. DDR333 supports 2 sockets only)

so i am asuming
DDR400=pc3200
DDR333=pc2700
DDR266=pc2100 (currently have 2 x 256mb of generic brand)
DDR200=pc1600

What are the largest single stick memory modules? 512mb or 1024mb?
should i go with 1 stick of the fastest or 2 of the medium, or 3 of the slower?
I am definately going to be doing some Overcloking, so what is a good brand?

bump, i swear this is the last time i am going to bump this post. If nobody wants to read it, so be it :(

What are you doing with the system? If you run it at stock, your board only has a 1/5 divisor which means you'll probably want to go with PC2700 to keep everything in spec. If you're planning on overclocking, go for some PC3200 and run the FSB up as high as your PCI slots will allow.

This computer is definately going to be overcloked, what else do people do with computer ? lol :)
Is it possible to get one stick of 1gb pc3200?

your board can handle 1 gb stick.. but those are expensive and usually dont come in the 3200 flavor..

your best bet is to get 1 stick of 3200 or 3500 ram..

if you mus thave 1 gig of ram then get 2 sticks =d
