go to Dtek and get their Kit...
upgarde the pump to the Ehiem 1250.. and if you want upgrade the block to White water...
so dtek would be the best kit out of all of them? i was leaning towards dtek but i was wondering what makes the dtek kit better than the others?
yea i would go with the dtek also. because you can upgrade some of the stuff like cherrypot said.
u can also customize dangerdens kit too..ok dtek seems to be the best from what you people have told me

U know, maybe U had good intentions, but this thread is for 100+ post ppl :)
trip0d - heatercoreas are used as good rads - with nice fan mounting they can fit in bigger cases and work nice other good thing with them is that they are not only efficient but also relatively cheap and if you buy used one (or even from car junk shop, and you will clean it), they are very cheap comparing to performance
if i do go the junkyard and get a heater core...what kind should i get from a small car or are they basiclly the same size..in which i dont think it would be...
and i would need to modify it into my case in whcih its amid tower case that i would like to use..but i also have a chieftic full tower...
ok my parts so far:
Hydor L30 Pump
White Water Waterblock: P-4 (478)
clearflex tubing 1/2"
Eheim Submersible C-1000 Pump ? or would the L30 work for this..cause submersible..
D-Tek Pro-Core and the Core Shroud
what else do i need with these parts?
and thats all i know what to buy right now....heater core ill prob get from the junkyard..but im in college right now so its kinda hard for me to get places
That junkyard (car junkyard - as some parts can be kept in shelters to avoid corrosion) was just an idea, as it should be possible to get heatercore for a few $. THe problem may be with cleaning it and so on.
So maybe used heatercore would be nice - it should be possible to buy such thing in car parts shop. I would rather buy it and get some shroud rather to buy "brand CPU rad", because heatercores are more efficient & cheaper.
Heatercores are usually in similiar sizes in most of cars, differences aren't big.
You can find many threads (with pics even) with systems with heatercores / heatercores discussion.
Pumps - there's a pinned topic here with charts of some popular pumps flowrates.
Block - it seems to be a good choice.
tubing - 1/2" is nice, think about reservoir or T-line too.
i ahve read te thread about reservior or t-line 4 times and i still really dont get the concept of both...i get the grasp of it but still dont really know the difference
i was reading up on it more and this guy has the same questions as i do and this is what he has"
D-TEK

would i go similar route?
I haven't even known that it's so expensive.
I've bought:
- tubes 12/16 for $0.45 / meter; enforced 12/18 for $0.90 (U should egt good prices in any hardware shop)
- car radiator (not heatercure) for $17 (with whole stuff, so I'll get some money after selling fan & fan motor, heatercores if used could be bought for about $6-7)
- desk fan $9 (after season they're cheap, 3 speeds, up to 45W - on 1 noisless, 2 - silent, 3 - powerful)
all prices are "about" due to currency converting
But in-case systems may be more expensive.
Anyway don't buy Arctic Alumina. If you want REAL product, get Arctic Silver III or Arctic Ceramique - both have similiar properties and if "perfectly" mounted, Arctic Cermanique seems to be better.
// edit //
I had nice prices mostly because I spent quite much time looking for the cheapsest stuff and they were never supposed to fit in case. So I didn't want to discourage U to your prices
well thats what some other guy has..from my own system i do have 2 tubes or ceramique still full welll 1tube full and 1 tube half
so i get heater core instead of rad?
what about the shroud nad the pump...should i stick with L30 or via 1300?
L30 > Via 1300 on high load (look at graphs on pinned topic, computer cooling stups are very stresing for pumps)
And I wouldn't buy "computer rad" but car heatercore - cheaper & more efficient. Shroud can be easily made with metal / plastic / wood. I've even seen here shroud made from some plastic container like these food containers for fridge.
It will just be cheaper & better (if only it's going to fit in your case)
ok L30 pump thought so...
water block is fine
1/2" clear flex tubing form like homedepot or something
heatercore from junkyard...or depending if i cant get access to one just get it from dtek?
shroud im going to buy cause i cant build anything worth ****..and i dont trust my own building skills with shrouds..
anything else im missing for parts to compete it
tline? resivoir? clamps i need

if you have space use a res because its way more convienient for filling bleeding and stress relieve for you and your pump ig put right before the intake of the pump .
ok so use a res instead of tline right?
what kind of res..specifly from dtek i want
this; Bay-Rez
http://www.dtekcustoms.com/search.asp?7=res
now the heatercore..hmmm i prob wont have time to go to the junk yard for one and mod it and clean it
rez - U need to get one that U like and woul fit your case...
heatercore - so don't get from junkyeard but get normally used one / new
yta the rez fits into a bay drive so that would fit perfectly
heatercore im still lost about should i jsut junkyard or buy one from dtek

you can get clearflex60 (5231K237) from www.mcmaster.com (http://www.mcmaster.com/) for 0.65/ft
and a 87 chevette heater core from autoparts store (autozone, napa, etc...)
if i do do that..how can i convert the heater core into what i need for my system...on a mid tower antec 660amg which i want it to be
but i could use my full tower chieftec..but i wanna keep with mid tower
and how would i end up cleaning mounting and stuff like that
finding the heater core:
edit: i saw read the thread again about making my own shroud..and im just going to buy one..as for the heater core it doesnt seem that bad...kinda tedious...
edit: well now that i re-read the thread and saw pics for 3 ytimes..the tubaware is to big for my case and it would prob take up 1/2 of my case on the bottom..well like 1/3...so im just thinking of buying a shroud/rad

thread on using chevette heater core - linky (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=227886)
i think you can go with Napa's 21.99 heatercore
and last time i checked autozone have them for 16.99
you can make your own shroud that will fit your case. just be creative.
edit: here's (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=232747) a good thread too with pics
ya that last link you sent i have been reading for a while to get a good idea in what to make my shroud from...except i ahve no ideas.yet....except does anyone else iave an idea :) to make a shroud small enough for a 120mm in a midtower case :)
ok so i have the
heater core which takes place for the rad right
for the heater core i also need barbs right?
dtek bay rez
L30 pump
white water waterblock
1/2" clearflex tubing
hose clamps
and i need a nb cooler so: 'FSB' Northbridge Cooler from dtek?
is that all i need besides wetter water and additives?
still need an idea on how to mount the shroud
i was reading on overclockers forum and i found this i can use for a shroud:
http://overclockers.com/tips1022/shroudwithgasket2.jpg
http://overclockers.com/tips1022/shroudbackgasket.jpg
http://overclockers.com/tips1022/completeheatercoresetup.jpg
it wouldnt be that bad and it seems easy enoguh
i was thinking placements of where to put my parts and i saw someone putting their shroud and rad on top of the inside of the case haveing 1 or 2 120mm on top to blow out...
well that thought will i need 1 fan or 2 fans to push or to push and pull
OK, I didn't see that you have 100 post. This really shouldn't be posted here so it will probably get taken down, but I wanna make sure u see it. Here's what the ad reads:
I am investigating other methods of cooling, and need money to fund my new project.
Therefore the following kit is for sale:
Evolution Water Block by Neomoses
Eheim 1250 pump
dteck pump relay switch
1986 Chevy Chevette Heater Core (modded with 1/2 brass barbs) 6.25" wide by 7.25 0
2 Panaflo L1A's, 69CFM @ 30dBa
2 hand made Aluminum Shrouds
Unused bottle of water wetter
Currently this is one of the best setups available. Compatible with AMD. Includes all necessary mounting hardware, springs, ect. Does not include tubing or tube clamps.
Everything was purchased from the following websites:
http://www1.autozone.com
http://www.logiccooling.com
http://www.directron.com/120l1a.html
http://dtekcustoms.safeshopper.com/20/110.htm?818
http://www.dtekcustoms.com/subcatmf...&1=233&2=-1&6=1
http://www.dtekcustoms.com/search.asp?7=relay
Cost of aluminum for the shrouds and price of the barbs are negligible, but making them is quite time consuming.
The system was used for about a month and I was able to achieve some excellent results with this push pull system because of such a great water block, and top of the line pump.
I will part with everything for $175.00 and will pay for the shipping.
I will not ship outside the US.
I will not sell parts individually.
I can only accept paypal for security reasons.
Go to www.paypal.com to set up an account.
The picture shows only one fan and shroud, but the other fan and shroud are exactly the same. I haven’t sold anything in these forums yet but you can check my recommendations on www.ebay.com My user name is dpapag. I will ship the kit out with insurance and provide you with the tracking # as soon as payment is recived. Email me at dpapag@hotmail.com

i think the point of the classifieds havin to sell to members that have spent time on the forums.. posting this here is defeating the point of that and prob will get a few mods angry =d i'd remove that if i were you
i wouldnt buy it anyway but thanks..i want the experience of water cooling and i have gained alot of knowledge..im at the final phase of my reasearch and all i need nowis tubing and additives...
the opinion of clearflex or tygon?
I had clearflex in my hands - nothing special, but not bad.
I would suggest going to some shop and to check how they're bending, if they are harsh inside.
Personally, I bought Guttasyn (or Gutasyn, I don't remember) - bending nice, minimal flow resistance, about $0.45/meter of 12/16.
Eventually U could look for tubing with kind of enforcing net (or the best - spiral, but it's rather used for very high diameters like 1 1/2") - tubes are bigger like 12/18, but they're usually nice bending and they don't want to limit flow on bendings. But it comes at cost of weight and slightly higher flow resistance (but it cna be considered zero difference on low lenght, like in in-case systems)
hmm where did u get guttasyn from? an online store? personally id rahter to to a homedepot or a plumbing store to get tubing dunno why cuase its probably the same kind of tubing..hmm ill probably go clearflex
now would a pci relay card be nessacary?
