View Full Version : Kt7A misreporting temps?
Okay. I just got a new KT7a and AXIA 1gig. But the temps seem way off, with globalwin CAK38 OR thermoengine with delta I get around 58c. Yet when I measure the heatsink temperature with an externel probe it's around 48c on the copper near the die. I installed the probe by putting a small blob of artic silver on it, so it got a good temp reading.
The hSF is also in good contact. Would you say it's misreporting?
it depends on the ambient temp...
i had the almost the samething but the funny thing is when i reinstalled the windows with the new 4in 1 4.31.
with the ambient at 20degC
the idle temp dropped to around to 30DegC from +40degC.
really strange???
GOD.....

I havent heard of anything like that except on the Asus board-but the KT7A could have a little bad thermal contact with the diode-causing a raise in temps-or the diode is not gettin gas much air as the thermometer that you are using

i think it's not the asus board itself that have problems with temperature but it is the program ASUS PROBE that reports temp around 10C higher than true temperature........correct me if i m wrong~
well from the tests I've done with these coolers before to get a C/W. The temps I work out that I SHOULD get, happen to be 10c lower than the temps I am getting. coincidence??

Yup i agree. its not the board on the asus a7v133 but the program (asus probe) in bios the temp is 10c less than asus probe and when i installed mbm5 i got the same readings as in bios
