Download a disk diagnostic program, it might pick it up... Otherwise, check all the cabling and try changing cables if possible..

how would the diagnostics program find it if the bios wont even find it? i tried it in 2 different computers, same thing.. i changed cables in the second computer and still the same thing...

I've had hard drives act weirdly. A seagate of my mates was in a Gigabyte board and it would power up later, after the master had. Wouldn't be powered up in time for the BIOS to find it so it said "None" for Primary slave, but somehow WinXP found it. Craziest thing......
Sometimes you get lucky..
Edit: saw your other thread too :)
