What's the release date for new nvidia v cards?

Hi all,
I've been trying to keep an eye on the forums here to see when any official release date is for the next generation nvidia v cards. So far I haven't found much except it should be around xmas. And then I read that it will be only a continuation of the fx line. Well I don't want a fx v card and won't buy one. They're just not a good v card for the money. And I won't buy Ati. So what is any accurate time table for the next generation nvidia v cards?

Had 4 v cards directly by Ati.
Had problems with all 4. (Lost much money on them.)
They may have fixed their problems but I've become soured to them by my previous experiences.
I don't care for nvidia either, but I have had better luck getting them to work for me.

what were the problems with them?

it was likely something else contributing to the problems or possibly improper installation - especially if you have had problems with 4 cards?

It doesn't matter what my problems were, just know that I went through a lengthy process, spending much time in trying to get them to work. (1 was DOA though.) And It was at differing times with 2 different v cards.

My main question is though; Isn't there any set release date or more specific information about nvidias next generation v card release yet, anywhere? Looks to me if there is gonna be a next gen release before xmas, we should be getting some kind of news on it by now...

How many generations do you think nVidia is capable of releasing in a year?

If they release one more, we're up to having FOUR top of the line cores available in the same year from the same company, and (3) NEW top of the line cores released in the same year......likelehood, small, but possible.

You'll just have to wait for more information...the NV40 is still a way's away....

Huumm, only generations of nvidia cards I am aware of in the past year and a half is the Ti series and the Fx series. That makes 2 series. I am not counting every minor core change as a new/next generation v card.

Ti series is one core

NV30 is different core (FX5800)

NV35 is different core (FX5900)

NV40 will be another core (FX????)

The differences between the FX5800 and FX5900 are rather LARGE...it uses a different memory controller and a BUS twice the size of the NV30 for goodness sakes...
