i m running a duron 750@991 (8x129) on a asus a7v mobo with 128mb ram which is pc133 and a FOP 32 with a 4500 rpm fan i forgot which company made but i think it is ys tech i m using a quantum fireball lm 30gb hard drive and a sound blaster live value sound card i have a creative infra52x cd rom drive and a hp 9110i 8/4/32 cdr/w writer i have a kind of small case but i think mid tower one my temperature underload is around 53-54 max and idle temp at 50 usually those temp above are temp that are overclocked if default then 47 idle and 50 under load thx for reading this long message and plz plz suggest how i can get my duron to reach 1ghz
Try a better heatsink fan and/or some Arctic Silver II thermal paste. Tell the price range your lookin in and I'll suggest a good fan.

Hmmm..
I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that A7V's don't go much above 110FSB. Anyway, for a KT133, that's good.
Those temps, even for idle are quite high, though. what type of case cooling do you have, and if that's sufficient, you might wanna clear away any mess of cables that might inhibit good air flow. Also... another tidbit of info might be needed here... what are your ambient temps?. And what is the code on your Duron (just a piece of info for myself, as I also have a D750)?
Good coolers at the moment seem to be the Globalwin CAK38 and Alpha's PEP66. Good prices and performance, from what I've been reading.

mmine was a akca processor week 47
abitent temp around 30C
i tried the cutting ide cable thing but when i plug the cable in it doesn't work
for some reason
and case cooling i have a 5400 rpm fan sucking air out that is located near the front of the computer case
i already ripped off the top of my case and when i put my hand on the side some air is forced out for some reason but the air is warm

Although in a ideal world a FSB is wanted I believe that in some situations its worth taking the Mhz over a slightly faster FSB so in your situation it may be worth trying 10x100, however a greater area of concern than hitting 1 ghz should be your temprature and in fact it may be the very reason you can not get 1 ghz .. Heat is not the overclockers friend.. and you have far to much of it !!!!!!!
