View Full Version : amd palameno chip
i was told by a dealer he was getting the palameno 4 desktop chipps tommorow, and they were 200 dollars., i called a dealer i know and they said the palemeno isint released yet, anyone know what the deal is with this chip i dont want to get ripped off, the place was called componentsdirect.com or something, it was on pricewatch.com..
palomino desktop chips wont be released for at least another month, probably longer. I'd stay away from that place if I were you. their reseller rating isn't too great either (2.9/7.0).

are they moble chips?
as the moble A4's are kicking around...
that dealer may have gotten his hands on a bunch of OEM moble A4's
I thought the mobile was a 1.0G only. Someone should call this place. Get the salesman to repeat about them having 1.33 Palaminos. While you're talking to him get something to beep every 30 seconds. Then tell him it is a tape recorder enunciator and is he aware of the penalties for false advertising in his state. That'll stop that.

I had the same question. I called the same place today and he told me that the 1.33 Ghz Athlon chips he had were Palaminos, when I asked if they were AXIA's? He told me it said Palamino on the chip? Not too sure I believe this guy though.

Sounds like there giving you a load of BS. Sure they are Palaminos but they wont be in for two months or so. Now if you could just find a 1 gig mobile palamino! 1.4v at 1 gig spells major overclock!

I bought some Samsung PC1066 RDRAM modules from componentsdirect.com and they were remarked PC800. They tried to be clever by sticking a "Warranty Void if Removed" sticker over the part of the label that said PC800. They wouldn't run at 533FSB. After several phone calls, they've agreed to send me some Kingston modules instead.
DON'T BUY FROM COMPONENTSDIRECT.COM
