I just talked to a VERY trusted tech support for a well know vender. He reported to me that after pre-testing MANY trays of AMD CPU's he found ZERO difference in overclockability between the 1.0 or 1.2 chips and the 1.33 chip......except for price, I changed my order to the 1.0 and saved a hundered smackers.

Also the 1.33 chips have dryied up, I am told this is due to AMD gearing up for the 1.4 chips. Expect to see the 1.33 back in volume in mid June, according to yet anther vender.

So reaching 1.7ghz is not a sci-fi story with only aircooling?

With the 1.3...

But everybody is screaming AXIA , AXIA , AXIA, now dayīs.
So what would the risk be that i wonīt get an AXIA, seems to be like everybody is getting one when they are ordering..,or?

Newegg.com has the 1.33 T-Birds arriving about once a week. They are sold within two days thou. lol. I just received my 1333 AXIA Y from them today. Not a bad price either, I was willing to spend the extra money for this processor.

Yeah most of the time you get an AXIA with those chips, if you don't, you will just get an AVIA which is just as good anyway, so either way you win :)

I just bought 4 1.0G Athlons to build 4 new systems for my dept. I need reliability so I absolutely run them at default speed. Therefore, I don't worry If they are AXIA, or AVIA or AZIA becauce I am not that crazy to OC those systems. Interestingly enough, It turns out that they all AXIA. I think, for the time being, most 1G+ Athlon are now AXIA, according to my recent experience. Happy OCing.

if u look at the cpu database the avia is as oc able as the axia.

So from what Daniel~ is saying is that why buy a 1.33 insted of a 1.0 gig, correct? if the 1.0gig is exactly as OCable as the 1.33-or did i misunderstand?

just make sure u get an avia or axia. Older ones like the avha wont oc as well. With avha u be lucky if u get over 1.3

I have the 1.33 AXIA and it purrs like a kitten sittin at 1.725ghz. Make sure you get a good HSF though as the faster they are, the hotter they get. Mine runs pretty chilly at 30 idle and 44 full load. If you want to get near the 2ghz mark, go with the 1.33, if 1.5 is enough for ya, grab the 1ghz. Either way you'll be smokin!

wow.. 1.33 OCed to 1.75? same question, which HSF are you using? so in theory..... a 1.2ghz can easily be OCed to 1.6ghz? tell us your secrets.

If I were you, I'd forget about the AXIA's. Sure they're great chips but the new stepping AYHJA is reportedly, considerably better. Runs cooler, oc's better.
