Since I got my new Vapochill running this weekend I can't run 3dmark2k1 with HT enabled. It comes up with:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DirectX Error Message:
setFullscreen - creating the device failed : D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It will bench at 3.7ghz 1.7v (inc Prime95) with HT off but won't bench at all, sometimes finishing Car Chase Low Detail before failing even as low as 1.3ghz (100fsb) with HT on.
I'm running build 330, re-installed Cat 3.7, latest directX, Bios all windows updates etc.
Has anyone heard of this problem before?

I was giving it 1.85v (briefly) with HT disabled to "see what she could do" and also pushed my memory past its limits with a couple of BSODs. Could this have screwed my registry or 'damaged' my P4? I'll re-install XP tomorrow and hope all is well again.

any ideas?

Tried re-installing XP (with no overclocking), but kept crashing - HT enabled. After about 5 goes it worked but, only 1 cpu in task manager although device manger reported 2 cpus.
Re-formated again and O/C to 3.5ghz during install and all went well, it seems my chip wants to be overclocked!
I think the problem may be running 1:1 with the memory that kept it crashing, i'll test that theory later.
I managed a quick run of 3dmark @ 3.75ghz with HT on with 9800pro at stock speeds and scored just under 20k (19,960pts) :D
Looks like my chip's ok after all, must have been XP that was screwed.

I had that same problem with my dividers not wanting to work at certain speeds even when the mem is not maxed.

I know it wasnt a mem issu because this mem I have can do 570mhz 1:1. somethings not right when the 3:2 divider wont even work at lower speeds:(
