Can anyone tell me if there are any 1.33 Ghz Palaminos. I was looking at pricewatch.com and called componentsdirect to ask them if their price for the 1.33 Ghz Athlon was one with an AXIA stepping. The guy I talked to said no, it's a Palamino???? Could this be true? I thought the Palaminos were suppose to be 1.53 or somthing like that, plus I thought they weren't even released yet? Is this guy telling the truth or does he not know what he's talking about? Thanks for the info guys.

Every website I have visited had said that the AMD Palomino is not due out for the desktop until later this summer. I heard the mobile version is out first this time.

I just called components direct again, and the guy confirmed to me that they do have 1.33 Ghz Palaminos? He said it says Palamino on the chip. I don't know, but I'm still not too convinced until I hear more news? What do you guys think?

"If" there is anyway to return it after the purchase-id go ahead, ya never know what it COULD be-if he's lying send it back-if hes not than-YOU DA MAN. Never know cause some people have RED CORE chips-and no one believed tehn-but it was actually true. AMD put them out from Dresden, and never said anything bout a new core-not really new but RED insted of green of blue?? Worth a shot?? up to u

I forget but I don't believe 1.33 laptop palaminos are out yet, but its entirely possible to use a laptop model in a desktop system as far as i can tell, from everything ive read they're still PGA socket type chips rather than BGA etc packaging which is used more frequently <ie intel>...so it may be that they have some OEM laptop chips sitting around, a true horsey should have 5 L1s instead of 4 if you want to quiz them some more
