The Buy.com description says T-bird.

I believe that those are just pre-overclocked cpu's Palamino isint out yet-till later this year
I don't think its a palomino just yet. It's kind of like amd selling pretested chips. 1400 mhz is really pushing it for that core especially when you remember this is for the average consumer; not just us overclockers.

Why would it say 384k of cache tho? TBirds only have 256k.
They are also available at pricewatch.com for $231.

Well you are right and wrong :) Tbirds only have 256K of L2 cache, but they also have 128 K of L1 cache, totaling 384 K of total cache.

Heh, but noone ever advertises the extra 128k cache on the sale. I have NEVER seen it at any stores at more then 256k cache.

If you look CAREFULLY you can see that this chip is a Back Order. This means, they DONT actually have it yet. This is just hype to get people to buy with them. Sure, you can order it from them but you'll be paying a premium. I expect the price to drop lower than an insane $276.95 when the Athlon4 actually comes out. Also notice that they refer to it as a ThunderBird. Maybe they are selling a new 1.4 TB and not the new upcoming Athlon4 1.4
I cannot wait for the Desktop Palmino because it has a larger die size, runs 20% cooler and is 10-15% faster than TBs. This means damn good overclocking!
And I think the realtime overclocking software PowerNow! will bring out new programs. These programs will detect cpu temperature and adjust the clock speed to run as high as possible. For example in windows idle a 1.4 Palmino might hit something like 1.8Ghz. But after 10mins of Quake3 the temperature rises and the software puts it down to 1.6Ghz.
