Anyone have any suggestions as to whats going on? Im running an Axia athlon 1.2 at stock setting of (133x9.0) and for some reason it stalls about 7 or 9 tests in. I suppose ill try jumping the settings down to see if its a problem with the mult. or fsb but prime95, F@H and BurnInTest all run smooth for hours. It seems stable to me but is a bit unnerving that i cant get a 3dmark test done. Any ideas?

Cheers.

Hmm make sure you have all you'r motherboard drivers and stuff installed and correct also make sure you have the latest directx 8.0a DirectX Website download (http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp) also check you'r bios settings make sure ur on AGP and not PCI in bios and if you have a 1-4x videocard make sure you got in on correct settings give that bios the 1nce over, Make sure you don't have beta videocard drivers that can possibly be conflicting with the 3D mark so go get an update for your vidcard drivers.

sounds like a video card problem to me, since the other tests you completed don't use 3d acceleration. If I were you, I would try turning your AGP rate down to 1x and see if that fixes it, if it does, I'll try and walk you through getting to 4x stabily :)

PS. if you want to let us know your motherboard and video card that might help

Mobo: IWILL KK-266R
VC: ATi Radeon 64Mb

I turned off bios video shadowing and disabled the 4x thing for the AGP. I might play with some of the video card settings just to make sure that something isnt quirky in there. Thanks for the help thusfar guys :)

heh, well 3dMark2001 works flawlessly giving some respectable numbers. I guess ill just stick with 2001 and leave 2000 behind.

i was getting the same problem but with 2001 and not 2000...i have the same vid card as you and i found the problem was that 2001 was set for compressed textures in the edit menu, i set it to 32bit and havent had a problem since...noticed a 20 point drop in my scores and a smoother apperance...dont know if this helps you but its worth a shot.

just uninstall it ,then reinstall it , I found that 90% of the time once it crashed it would doit in the same spot from then on , I even had to redownload it once, this is the case I found with both versions
