OK, hope i put this in the correct part of the forum. Here we go, first the equipment:
Gigabyte GA-7vaxp motherboard
Athlon XP 2100
Forton FSP 400watt PSU
256mb 2700 Ram
Stock i was running the CPU Clock at 133mhz with the multiplier of 13 which comes to 1729mhz or a XP 2100. Ok so i changed to CPU clock to 166mhz with the multiplier of 12 which i thought would come to 1992mhz, But the Computer says the the chip is running at 1450mhz or a XP 1700 !!!! So i go back to the bios and up the CPU voltage by 20% and the chip is running at something like 2158mhz, but the computer still says the chip is a XP1700. Maybe someone can help me out...........THanks
Ps- stock the chip is at 48c temp, it has a Volcano 9 fan, should i be concerned about heat after the overclocking?
