well that isn't good news for me then, it all started by buying a swiftech mc462-a and finding out that it doesn't fit onto a asus a7a266 motherboard. i had to take off the superorb ot see if it would fit. i was told by swifttech and the place that i purchased the hsf from that it would fit this motherboard. if i would have known this would not fit i would not be out a axia 1.333 t bird.i wonder if i can go after either swifttec or the place that i purchased the hsf from?

Proper installation of Swiftech coolers should never chip cores, what sounds more likely to have happened, is that you chipped it when you removed your SuperOrb. I would place my bet that that is what happened.
