I was just looking at this site and check out the perfomance of the Athlon 4

I dont think it will be time to upgrade untill the big performers come out, personally speaking I think that the price will need to reduce before a large amount of take up however I could be wrong..

interesting that the documentation on that site says there are no plans to support a 266MHz bus on mobile solutions.. I wonder why

yea,me too ,maybe just to conserve power,

it wouldn't take much power; if any to do 266Mhz instead of 200.

I'm waiting until the 333Mhz parts are available. I'll stick with an SDRAM system for now. Buying the Palomino as a drop in upgrade doesn't make a great deal of sense to me.

I will, when the time is right, build a new machine, at least DDR DRAM, a motherboard, and processor. I'll need some arm twisting in the interim, as I cannot find a compelling reason to go DDR and Palomino in the near future..that may change, but the platform is quite immature, and I will need to see more of a performance gain in order to justify a purchase.
