Kingston HyperX Part Number Question

Greetings

For the Kingston HyperX pc3200 1gb dual packs, you can find the following part numbers:
KHX3200K2/1G (with timings 2-2-2-6)
KHX3200AK2/1G (with timings 2-3-2-6)

It is my understanding that the "A" indicates the use of winbond ch-5 whereas the other with tighter timings uses bh-5. Do you think Kingston still has bh-5 chips to play with or have they just not got around to changing the numbers? FWIW they still sell these as separate products on their website.

You are right.. What do you mean by "not got around to chaning the numbers" though.. I don't know what number you are talking about but the product number is changed and so are the rated timings.

Sorry, I guess I was a little ambiguous when I said "changing numbers". What I meant was that could I count on a package marked as KHX3200K2/1G to have timings 2-2-2-6 and still be using winbond bh-5 chips and a package marked as KHX3200AK2/1G to have timings 2-3-2-6 and be using the ch-5 chips? I think you answered me though when you said I was right. Thank you for your response.

how about between hyperx PC 3200 and PC 3500
PC 3200 has timing at 2-6-2-2 whereas PC 3500 has 2-7-3-3
Does it mean the PC 3500 not using Bh-5 Chip?

400MHz (PC3200) 2-3-2-6-1 (CAS Latency 2) <- CH-5
434MHz (PC3500) 2-3-3-7-1 (CAS Latency 2) <- CH-5

400MHz (PC3200) 2-2-2-6-1 (CAS Latency 2) <- BH-5

Correct me if im wrong, but, i dont think anything above HyperX PC3200 was ever made with BH-5 chips.

Old 3500 was BH-5 but the new ones are CH-5.. You can't tell which you will get though like you can with the 3200 since timings and part number was changed for the 3200.. Pretty much though if you get 3500 new it will be CH-5
