A question for those who have purchased the newer CPUs with the 266 FSB. Does this improve performance a great deal on either the KT133 or KT133A chipsets?
There isn't much difference in the prices of the 2 speeds and in some cases I have seen the 1 gig 266 the same price as the 200 FSB.

the fsb on tbirds is irrelavent if you are going to be overclocking as you can unlock them. also the kt133 won't run at a 133mhz fsb, only the kt133a.

the kt133a chips are for ddr mobo`s
the kt133 chips are for sdram mobo`s

There are some problems with some KT133A motherboards, and the 'B' model T-birds being able to boot effectively. This is commonly referred to as the 'multiplier issue'. For reference see this (http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1440).

You can avoid the whole issue by purchasing a '266Mhz' T-bird..a model 'C'. All of this will be moot before too much longer, as AMD will only be producing T-birds in the 266Mhz. flavor. Durons are to remain at 200Mhz FSB for the next year or so..perhaps longer. So, if you're in the market for a Duron, the above article may hold more weight.

KT133A motherboards are most decidedly SDRAM. there are hybrid motherboards based on the Ali MagiK1 chipset, that do offer the use of SDRAM or DDR SDRAM, albeit not at the same time..in addition not all 'MajiK1" motherboards have this option, although the chipset supports it.
