i had a western digital 7200 rpm 100 gig hard drive. it crashed on me so i rma'ed it through western digital.. today to my surprise the new drive comes in and it is a 120 gig 7200 rpm with 8 mb buffer..i guess i got lucky on that..maybe they were out of stock on the 100s..

Lucky. I sent my wb800 in, and got another on in return. :( Oh well it works. Good find... errr RAM! :D
Yep you're lucky. But not the only one.
Once i had to RMA my CD-RW drive (a 16x10x40x) and what did i get a few days later?? A 48x24x48!!! :D
I like it when i get lucky! :P

I just RMAed a 48x dvd/cdr and got a 52x back. They didnt have to do that at all. I had bought one that had a black bezel put on it. I talked to them afterwards and they dont make any black drives. I got lucky, or the tech was color blind. Who knows.
