That's high. What are you cooling it w/, and what kind of other case cooling do you have?

I'm cooling with a standard cpu fan and a crappy case fan

Is this a Classic Athlon (Slot 1) or a Thunderbird (Socket 462)?

But that dosn't really matter much in the long run. I'd try getting better cooling, and possibly lowering your Vcore. As soon as I lowered mine, I saw huge temperature drops. Good luck!

I don't know about lowering the Vcore just yet, but a different heatsink is definitely the way to go. When i had my 650 Tbird (eventually sold it), I got it up to 950 without much of a fight. From 950 to 1G was a lot of work. High Vcore, Mega cooling, definitely out of the sweet zone. You can hit 900 with reasonable temps (40-45C loaded) assuming you get a better heatsink.
Good Luck

I'd look at my overall cooling set-up as well. If you don't evacuate that heat from your case, it'll still build up. I think that you'll find that better case cooling in addition to a better HSF will give you the best results.

If you have a SlotA athlon, 50 is VERY high. If its a Thunderbird then thats quite high. I had a SlotA athlon 650@750 running at 43ºC full load. A SocketA athlon at 650 should be more like 38-39ºC full load.

You should look for a better hsf / system ventilation.
