View Full Version : Can anyone explain this AXIA thingy to me, or post a link...?
Hi, I am trying to fig. what this AXIA is, I believe it to be a code of some sort, but being a newbie, i don't know. I am looking for detailed information, so if u have time to explain here, or email me con@pc-critic.com then that would be great, or if u could post a link to something

AVIA codes seem to do well also. I beleive 1 gig and above had AXIA and later codes.
AXIA is a CPU stepping code, meaning it it is an identifying line on the core of a CPU. AXIA cpu's are known to overclock much higher than most other CPU codes, with the exception of the AVIA code which overclocks just about as well. So on your CPU core, the first 4 letters of the second line are known as its stepping code. AXIA is just a core code. Most AXIA's reach 1400-1500 mhz easily no matter whether they are 1.33 ghz or 1 ghz to begin with. If this didn't clear it up let me know and I'll give it another shot :)

conny, adding onto what he said - the AXIA stepping was introduced with the 1.3 gig athlon. So if you get a 1gig AXIA, your basically getting a downmarked 1.3.

so regardless the rated speed its gonna be a hella fast chip-cause its made ot run at 1.33 so a 1 gig will definately hit 1.33-thats what it was made to do
