Weird modem issue

I'm stuck in the archaic age, but i have a modem that works fine in my old computer, running winXP.

I pop it in my new one and it doesn't work. I've tried moving it to different PCI slots and whatnot. It's using the same driver as the other computer. I'm baffled. It worked fine in the new one until after I took it out to add watercooling. I'm baffled?!

perhaps something in your new setup is conflicting with the modem for some reason?

What sort of "not working" is it doing? What error messages are you getting?

No error messages, but when i try to dial out with either AOL or just plain old Hyperterminal, it initializes fine, then clicks on to get a dial-tone, but just never dials anything.
