There are 4 holes around each corner where the cpu goes, i was wondering are those used to mount the mb to the case or are those used for a heatsink?

HEAT SINK thats very heavy in most cases (pal8045, SLK800u ect )

it's for the heatsinks alright, at First I thought they were just weird, but it beats using those little clips with the tiny'easy-to-break-off' little hooks.

Give it a shot, you'll love it, that way your heatsink, or waterblock won't force so much pressure ( more weight and gravity related one in a case) on your socket.
