How do I buy a axia/avia chip? Do i pay the high price some dealers charge for these chips, or take my chances with one of the cheaper dealers that don't spec them out? Is it really that important for oc'ing? Do i have to have a axia/avia chip for oc'ing? I'm looking for a 1.0 or 1.2 t-bird with a 266 fsb. This seems to be the most bang for the buck.

Please help,

Most 266 FSB t-birds (I think all) are either AVIA or AXIA, so I don't think you'll have a problem getting one. AXIA and AVIA are very important for overclocking and will gain you likely 200 mhz more overclocking speed over any different code, but you don't HAVE to have them to overclock, the other chip just likely won't go as high. As for choosing between a 1 ghz and a 1.2 ghz, i'd go with the 1.0 ghz, as its cheaper and both of the chips seem to overclock to about the same speed.
