GFD finally came in today, only took 1&1/2 weeks, when i install it and try to do any changes with it i get a message that says
BIOS BOOTLOCK v1.0
BIOS Checksum Error

this screen appears right after the vid card screen and is intermitant, sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesnt
I just installed the latest version of bios for my AbitKa7 mobo running a Slot A 750
I recently formatted, yesterday.

TIA

when you installed the GFD i am willing to bet that you removed your cpu for a longer period of time than normal-i did the same and got the same error. BIOS checksum error-i had to unplug the power socket from the mobo, clear the CMOS-put the power back to the mobo, put the CMO battery back in-then go to BIOS and reet to defaults-i think its f5, of f2. That should fix it-if not tke the CMOS battery and the mobo power out for 15 minutes-then reset the BIOS to default-it worked for me, but hey i got a different setup-try it

Hey guys! Do not overoverclock CPU of yours.
I have destroyed Duron 750 using FSB.
But all I know from KT7(a) , the cases of this message are:
1. CPU destroyed(L1,L2 cache burn,NPU burn)
2. CPU is still living, but it won't leave for long if not to turn powersupply quickly off- Temps are over 65 C - happens if you forget to set a cooler
3. Somebody turned your system off when you was flashing bios. But this appears very rarely. I turned it 6 times off when I flashed bios and only in one case that was displayed.

Hope this helps.

Well this is not with a KT7A or any AMD board, But I have had this same error with my Abit BE6-II.

I've got it when my system locked up during a Bios Update, and I will get this error when I have my PCI divider set at 2\3 while running a FSB of 124 or higher. If I set it at 1\4 divider the error goes away.

Most likely has nothing to do with your problem but I thought I would throw it out there for ya.

But I think clearing the CMOS will do it for you.

I just got my GFD today and took me about 2 hours to go in and configure the GFD since i needed to take out the PS everytime. but anyway i started with 900 and now im at 1000mhz T-bird slot a. my temps are an averege 35-9 C for cpu and 30- 34 for case.
It helps alot when you tie all your cords togeather. The best thing is to replace your power supply with a good name brand 300watt. I couldnt believe the difference when i went from a crap 250 watt from what a dealer sold me to 300watt. My athlon 4 will be sure to get the best Power supply. The only thing i was kinda upset was when i couldnt reach 1050mhz. Ive had my computer for 16 months , i went from a 600mhz classic to a 900 t-bird which i bought 2 months ago for $125.
im not jelous of any duron or socket A owners right now unless they are running at least 1500mhz and Pc3200 DDR ram
