no java

hey there
im having troubles trying to get java to work in my web browser. i have got internet explorer 6 but when i try to load games etc.. that use java, it says i need a java enabled browser. in my internet options list under advanced, there is no heading of java either. i tried downloading a plug in from sun microsystems website but this did nothing either. could somebody please help.

Ive had this problem before. Microsoft stopped distribution of the java runtime, and the sun one didnt work properly for some reason.

This one should work perfectly. I'm pretty sure this is the one I installed on my machines.
