Is my duron really unlocked

abit kt7a duron 750.....


I have been testing my cpu at different fsb and multipliers and noticed something a little strange...

7x100 ok
7.5x100 ok
8x100 ok
8.5 x100 ok
9x100 resets to 7x100
7x133 ok
7.5x133 windows but video errors in games

I have a KT7A and a Duron 750 and it doesn't want to do 6.0 or 6.5 X 133 but it will do 7.0 X 133. I've been running it at 933 and have had a few problems, I'm messing with voltage to see if I can get it stable. I can post at 1GHz, but can't get into windows.

Oh yeah, and sometimes when I set it to another speed, I will save and exit and it will post as 700. Go back into the BIOS, save and exit, and it will likely be at what you set it as.

KT7As will sometimes do that. It comes and goes, and for the life of me, I can not tell why. Luckily, it has not done it recently, but far a while it was very odd. I thought my CPU L1 jump job was bad.

Have had a similiar problem with MSI K7T Raid. Pulled it all apart because I thought it was the L1's. After much fiddling around decided to change the power supply. Problems have all gone all is happy again. Suspect that the PS was just that little bit short.
