Is there a way to unlock an opteron?

seeing as the athlon fx is just a rebagged opteron....I was wondering if it where possible to unlock the multy of say the 1.4gHz opteron.......?

I do believe Opterons are unlocked, but most boards don't support changing the multi.

this seems to be the norm im hearing.
but bios hacks and bios updates should fix this.

if the price of the fx stays high people will be popping ihs's off opterons and trying pin modding underneath.if it can be done it will be found.

btw i like the way you think treepop as this is my hopefull plan on this new build.
