Well, it's about time. Just waiting for the 939 pin FX now. I might even have to grab a 9800.

Any other Team member's here thinking of going with the new AMD chip?

All I can say is.... damn!

Might have to get myself one of those chips. What are the 03 scores like?

I definately am not going to buy anything that has just come out again. I think the manufacturers deliberately leave flaws or short comings in products so will we have to upgrade again sooner than we should, just to have what we should have recieved to begin with. Or perhaps they rush products to market because we will buy any new. Example: I got the Abit IC7 board. It was unstable and had other problems. Many early CW boards had the same and other problems. Somehow only weeks later Abit has a new board, IC7-Max , which works great. I now have one of those and it does work great. 8156 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1336709 ) Why didn't Abit wait to release a CW board until all the bugs were removed? Because we(overclockers) were tripping all over each other to pay for the right to test this board for them. I'm not testing any more new hardware. It's to expensive. However, having said all that, I will almost certainly buy one someday.

I agree sadcat. Look how crappy the p4 was when it first came out. I will be waiting awhile because I dont think my 3.7ghz p4 is gonna have many problems with any game for awhile.

I can't wait to see 30k go down once some certain people get ahold of that a64.

ya thinking about getting on after x-mas along with a new card just waiting to see alittle more about perfromance still alittle early to tell. i was reading over in the AMD CPU section and they are reporting good overclock ability out of the few test chips that have been released (or atleast the one they are talking about)!

now it's just in the hands of the mobo manufaturers to start producing some nice boards to go with the chips!;)

Damn, I want one of these. I have been bitten by the bug! MickeyMouse/qwerty57 is showing us the way.

For me personally, when we see these AMD chips out running all of INTEL's stuff, I will be all smiles. I always root for the underdog......well maybe not Nvidia;)

MM has definitely put up some extremely impressive scores. And to think he has done it all with an "AMD Duron(tm) Processor 2572 MHz" (wink wink).

03 scores are all GPU and DX9.0 and are not a good indication of anything else. That's why every magazine and reviewer uses 3Dmark2001se still.

I agree, especially with ABit. I tested the KV8-MAX3 and it's the biggest POS I have ever seen. It's fast alright, but it died on me in a day, at stock volts and clocks.

The Asus K8V however is a monster. It is rock solid stable and very fast. Here are some of my 100% air compares.

Pretty tough to argue with these scores on air. With a Prommie and a Swifty for the Radeon I'd be on the front page for sure.:D

Asus already has a great board. All the others have issues because the manufacturers didn't spend enough time getting them ready before they released them.

Check it out...

Hi StormPC, are you bass1bad too?;)
If so I will take down the scores under the username of bass1bad, since some of those links are invalid already. Let me know.

Yes, I changed my forum name because it got hacked on another board. You can go ahead and remove the bass1bad scores, thanks.
