Is it me or are newegg refurbs going downhill sharply? Of my past 9 refurb purchases (5 cards, 4 boards), 4 have been bad.

9500 nonpro - Worked (modded too)
9500 nonpro - Worked (Almost modded... One dancing pixel)
9500 nonpro - Got artifacts, was heavily and poorly modified, and flashed to very high clockspeeds
Soltek nf2 board - worked
Soltek nf2 board - worked
Soltek Nf2 board - couldnt load windows.
IS7-E - regulation was very poor, I don't believe the 12v input worked, and the mounting bracket was broken
ti4200 128meg - worked
9800 pro - Was actually not modded at all (amazingly) but is an example of very poor QC at gigabyte. It gets white flickering spots at stock speeds, underclocked to nonpro speeds there weren't any, however.

so far 3 of the 4 refurbs They have just refunded me instead of repairing or replacing. The 4th I haven't sent yet (it arrived today the 9800 pro). I've spent about 35$ on shipping these bad parts back to them, where one was physically damaged, and two would have been found bad if they had ever tried to even load windows with them.

Newegg is Awesome, just got a Kodak camera Dock for $30 as it sells at Kodak for $69

I had to look at my Newegg buying history and out of 16 purchases from the refurb section only one item was inop, but I got this one part for a buddy and chances are he was the one inop..

Hey some people have better luck than others, one thing I wouldnt buy from Newegg refurb is Processors and Video cards that are 'softmodable'. To much of a chance that someone futzed with it and its a lemon, trying to be resold as a peach, but a lemon is a lemon.

gotten only a few refurbs from them for customers of mine and all have worked, most recent refurb purchase was an NF7-S for myself for 59.00 (new for 119). It cam as a rev2 AND all the pieces, w00t, and works perfectly :) The only thing I would never buy from newegg refurb are HDDs and procs, everything else I dont have a problem with

I just went for my first newegg refurb purchase. A Nf7-S for $59 shipped. Hopefully it works like a charm and with some 2.0 action. :)

I wish you all would quit talking about Newegg's refurbs, unless you have BAD experiences. I personally LIKE the service, but you guys keep getting the stuff I want.:D

Newegg Rocks!

I've only had 2 bad items out of at least 30+ refurbs I've bought. I also swore I would never buy a refurb processor, but...I've got a refurb 2.4C running at 3.4 in a refurb Asus P4C800Deluxe at stock voltage. I love newegg :)
