If you didn't then you need to unlock the L1 located on the cpu chip. Check out the O/C home page for more info.

rarely are they unlocked. Before you start dismantling your computer, make sure you have some replacement heatsink compound from like Radio Shack or better yet some Artic Silver II. Nothing like pulling off the heatsink then realizing....oops...and going to the store for some . I get a lot of calls from my friends wanting to borrow some.
Clean of the thermal tape or old compound with acetone then with alcohol on both heat sink and cpu chip. Acetone is a must unless you are using the same type of stuff. The tape is not reusable, some of my friends had tried, it ain't going to happen. If you are into lapping now is a good time 1200 Girt and don't go overboard and remove metal :-D . Good prep work and you could do some serious O/Cing

1 GHz at 1.4 GHz now

OK, here is a good tip also. after applying pencil trick, if it doesn't work, do it again ;-) the system will continue to hang on startup when you try to oc it if the multipliers aren't unlocked. sometimes you can't tell with the naked eye that you didn't do it right. also, my pencil trick just stopped working the other day, had to reapply the pencil to it.
