my K6-2 350 has a default core voltage of 2.2v! how does a 550 have the same?to o/c to 400 i have to bump it up to 2.4! but my vid card doesn't like FSB o/c and , K6-2 DONT LIKE O/C

i think it's rather immature to do a song and dance about this guy's hardware. please refrain from childish outbursts in the forum.

RE: K6-2 overclocking...
while the core does have little potential, from the experience of myself and others... one thing you can do is remove the aluminum cap.
i have done it, and it helps get your temps down, while allowing more direct contact from the core to the heatsink. use thermal paste, and lap your hsk to be very smooth.
i would say try 2.8v and 5.0x at 112 fsb = 560mhz... this got me 560 from a 450, but that was about all i got.
then try for a 5.5x multiplier. i think you said it's 500mhz stock right?
anyways, the core on all K6-2's was 2.2 or 2.4 depending on the codes located on the cap. most common was 2.2 but all of em can run 2.8v no problems, just have good cooling for it.
the cap is a tuff thing to remove, but just work your way around the corners, and she'll come off. good luck!
