View Full Version : um.. in antec case how do u remove the bottom drive cage holder?

the bottom drive cage holder is riveted in... how the hell am i supposed to remove that? drill it out? or someone know a hax way to get it off? cause i gotta get my 120mm fan in there. :)

you have to drill it out. take the front plastic thing off. there should be 6 tabs that you have to unlatch from the inside. then there are 3 rivets that you have to drill out. a1/8th inch bit should make quick work of the rivets. drill just untill the head comes off. usually the head will just start spinning. once you have given all three rivets the same treatement, the cage should come free.

I just popped mine out...heh

It took a bit of force, and I didn't notice any damage to the surrounding stuff by flying bits of rivets...though one did bounce off of my thigh (my case is a bit low so I had to crouch down)....

Take the cage out of the slider, then just grab it by where it connects to the case and just lift up..

My way may be a bit more "crude" but it seemed to get hte job done for me w/o worrying about dust from metal inside my case...heh

drill or dremil out the heads of the rivets and they will then pop out, rather easaly :D good luck

I just used a file and filed it down the bent it so it would come out.

I broke mine off....No bs plain and simple. I just pushed it down with quite a bit of force and it broke off.

You can use a sharp screwdriver and a hammer to smack the head of the rivit and it will break right off. I however used a drill.
