An owner of an online retailer offered to sell me a Kryotech Super G cooling unit for $200, He got it for a review for Toms Hardware a long time ago. The thing has never been used. It was one of those that took the classic Athlon to 1Ghz if you still remember. The unit is featured here (http://www.kryotech.com/downloads/brochures/SuperG2_2pager.pdf)
Does this thing work for a Athlon XP now?. I think it uses the old slot A or something that the AMD used to have in the early days of the athlon. I will open it up next week when the guy returns from overseas. What is your opinion, I am completely new to extreme low temp. setup staff or should I just forget it.
I would say that for the cooling power, it is worth the $200. If you could get it to fit on a modern XP or P4, it should cool them quite well.
The problem is whether Kryotech sells any adapter kits for it to use with modern processors. If they don't, then it would greatly reduce its value.
edit:
I just had a look at kryotech.com. It does not look like they are very active. In fact, they have discontinued the SuperG2. So I think it might be difficult to get parts for the SuperG1.
If you can't find any adapter kits, I would say you should decide depending on your own modding skills. If you or someone you know, could make an adapter so that you can use it on a modern processor, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise, I'd leave it.

Kryotech has closed up shop. I have been searching for info on them for along time and have come to dead ends on every attempt. Other than the few old reviews that are out there.
I have purchased one of these compressors from a gentleman on the forums. If you could find out the model number of the compressor I might be able to tell you the size.
